Impacto de la inversión en ciencia, tecnología e innovación tecnológica en la productividad de las firmas en el Perú

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio es estimar el impacto de la inversión en ciencia, tecnología e innovación tecnológica (CTI) en la Productividad Total Factorial (PTF) a nivel empresarial para diversos sectores de la economía peruana. Para explorar relaciones causales se ha empleado la Encuesta Económica Anual entre los años 2014 y 2016 y la metodología Endogenous Switching Model. Los resultados empíricos sugieren que la inversión en CTI incrementa la productividad en empresas que pertenecen a los sectores de agroindustria, comercio, manufactura y restaurantes. En tales sectores, una mayor proporción de empresas realiza inversiones en CTI de diversos tipos (productos, procesos, organización y software). La decisión de inversión en CTI se relaciona de manera directa con el tamaño de las empresas y las inversiones en activos intangibles. Este estudio se desarrolló como resultado del XXII Concurso Anual de Investigación CIES 2020, con el auspicio de la Fundación Manuel J. Bustamante de la Fuente, el Fondo Fiduciario de la ONU para Eliminar la Violencia contra la Mujer (ONU Mujeres), el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés) y el Consorcio de Investigación Económica y Social (CIES).
