Gobernanza indígena en contextos de economías ilícitas: el caso de las comunidades Ashánincas del VRAEM

Abstract

En los últimos años, los cultivos de coca se han expandido hacia los territorios de los Pueblos Indígenas Amazónicos del Perú. Entre el 2016 y 2020, la superficie cultivada con coca dentro de comunidades nativas Amazónicas a nivel nacional pasó de 2,769 hectáreas (ha) a 5,891 ha, situándose una extensión significativa dentro de las comunidades Amazónicas del valle de los Ríos Apurímac, Ene y Mantaro (VRAEM) (UNODC, 2018; DEVIDA, 2021). En las comunidades del VRAEM, el área cultivada con coca aumentó en un 59% en el mismo periodo1 , siendo el Pueblo Indígena Ashaninka el que registra mayor cantidad de cultivos de coca dentro de sus territorios con una cifra estimada de 2,189 ha en el año 2020, lo que representa el 35% del total de superficie con coca en comunidades Amazónicas y el 3.7% de la superficie total a nivel nacional.
