Dentro del colegio y lejos del embarazo: el efecto de la Jornada Escolar Completa (JEC) sobre el embarazo adolescente en el Perú

Abstract

La investigación busca evaluar el efecto de la exposición de las adolescentes a la Jornada Escolar Completa (JEC) sobre el embarazo adolescente. Bajo la hipótesis que la JEC reduce el embarazo adolescente, el documento plantea una metodología de evaluación de impacto con una estrategia de identificación creíble basada en variables instrumentales. Se encuentra evidencia a favor de la hipótesis. En concreto, los resultados muestran que la JEC promueve la reducción del embarazo adolescente en magnitud moderada, 0.6 pp. Por tanto, basado en los resultados, se recomiendan nuevas líneas de investigación así como materializar otras estrategias de lucha contra el embarazo adolescente. Este estudio se desarrolló como resultado del XX Concurso Anual de Investigación CIES 2018, con el auspicio de Global Affairs Canada (GAC), el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés), la Fundación Manuel J. Bustamante De la Fuente, la Superintendencia Nacional de Aduanas y de Administración Tributaria (SUNAT) y el Consorcio de Investigación Económica y Social (CIES).
