La salud peruana en el siglo XXI. Retos y propuestas de política

Abstract

El presente libro contiene siete trabajos de investigación sobre los temas de financiamiento en salud, focalización, medicamentos, nutrición y alimentación, salud reproductiva, gestión hospitalaria y participación social en salud. Los informes que aquí presentamos fueron sistematizados y debatidos entre setiembre del 2001 y marzo del 2002 y desarrollan la propuesta sanitaria presentada en junio del 2001, en el primer libro sobre «Políticas de Salud 2001- 2006», que incluyó trabajos sobre lineamientos de políticas de salud, gobernabilidad, reestructuración institucional, descentralización en salud, situación de salud, atención de primer nivel, servicios hospitalarios y recursos humanos en salud. Los trabajos muestran diferentes facetas de nuestra realidad sanitaria y finalizan planteando propuestas de políticas para cada una de ellas. El énfasis aquí no será adentrarse en algún campo sanitario específico. Su objetivo es otro, desarrollar dos ideas-fuerza representadas en este libro: las de democratización y racionalización en salud, puntos críticos que condensan viejos y nuevos problemas para la acción colectiva en el sector salud. Este libro y los estudios que reúne han sido posibles gracias al auspicio de DFID-Ministerio Británico para el Desarrollo Internacional y del Proyecto POLICY, que es un proyecto de USAID, implementado por The Futures Group International, en colaboración con Research Triangle Institute (RTI) y Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA). Se publicó en la serie CIES Diagnóstico y Propuesta 10, 2002.
