Abstract

A number of new trends is affecting and reshaping the Asset management industry. Asset managers must focus on data and technology to mitigate the growing pressure on profit margins. Technological advances will have a number of important implications to reduce costs, to enhance alpha generation and to introduce fundamental changes to the professional workforce. These trends will imply a strategic reorientation and a profound evolution of business models, towards five possible options: product providers, solutions providers, platform providers, data providers and capital providers
