Abstract

Following Google’s announcement that it would be introducing storage limits for Google Apps for Education institutional clients, archivists from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Special Collections and University Archives worked with campus IT partners to plan for the upcoming changes to how Google storage limits are managed on campus, and how to handle dormant accounts and their associated files. This paper describes how archivists worked to manage records in Google Team Drive accounts, apply a capstone-like review to accounts pending deletion, and planned to guide a campus-wide shift in record-keeping behaviour.
