The productivity imperative

Abstract

Productivity is high on the corporate agenda across the globe. JLL tasked itself with understanding what productivity means across a variety of industries from the C-suite, finding a disconnect between value and focus. CEOs are committing over 60 per cent of their time to people in the hope that it will reflect in the productivity of their business; however, JLL found that, unless the key enablers of productivity — leadership, systems and processes — and the work environment are also continually assessed, tweaked and optimised, focusing solely on people never will produce sustainable productivity gains. With the work environment playing such a significant part in the productivity equation, this paper discusses the potential of the workplace and how organisations can assess their own work environment to produce productivity gains.
