Abstract

Sistemul de drept anglo-saxon sau Common law reprezintă un sistem juridic care guvernează teritorii întinse ce depăşesc cu mult limitele Marii Britanii. Dreptul englez s-a impus în mai multe țări datorită expansiunii coloniale britanice pe vaste teritorii din Africa, Asia şi America. Născut în insulele britanice, acest sistem nu guvernează în întregime aceste insule. Fiind aplicat în Anglia, Țara Galilor şi Irlanda, acesta nu se aplică în Scoția, care are un sistem juridic propriu
