Abstract

This paper researches performances of all enterprises in Croatian ICT sector using data of Financial Agency and Central Bureau of Statistics. Average enterprise performances in different industries indicate the industry heterogeneity. Heterogeneity can be seen in productivity, profitability, capital intensity, and minimal efficient size of enterprise. The comparison of small, medium, and large enterprise performances shows that the size of an enterprise influences their efficiency. In ICT, industries, large enterprises are gaining bigger and bigger significance in market shares, achieved profits, and employment. The potential role of the institutions in improving post-entry performances of the new ICT sector enterprises lies in the development of capital market, as well as in ensuring suitable educational structures of the employees, so that the new enterprises in the young industries would be able to grow and develop.
