Una lectura crítica de «El Capital del siglo XXI» desde la noción de innovación

Abstract

El artículo realiza una revisión de la obra «El Capital del siglo XXI», de T. Piketty, partiendo de la noción de innovación como fuente del aumento de productividad (y, por ende, del rendimiento del capital) y un enfoque sistémico o de circulación de la economía. A la par que se ponderan los méritos de la obra, particularmente en lo que hace al enfoque de largo plazo, a la vuelta a las grandes preguntas de la economía clásica, al ejercicio de diálogo con otras disciplinas o a la recopilación de estadísticas, se señalan algunas incongruencias teóricas que ponen en cuestión algunas de las conclusiones extraídas por el autor.
