Abstract

The prevailing branch of industry and exports in Ukraine being raw materials, investment slowdown threatens to degrade the economy. These business practices of Ukraine indicate that the traditional sources of controls over economy - public finance and monetary policy, activation of the internal market, investment, foreign trade - are not sufficiently effective. As a result, the country is becoming dependent on imports. Making the economy internationally specialized based on absolute or comparative advantages will allow to achieve positive effect from international exchange. It is clear that export-oriented products should meet the best international standards and have competitive advantages, especially in quality and so on. Such requirements are typical for innovative products and designs. This means that there is a causal link between product innovation, international trade and economic development.
