Abstract

As China’s largest neighbour and strategic cooperation partner, Russia is an important participant in the One Belt, One Road initiative. Over the past ten years, after the launch of this initiative, the scale of trade, including agricultural products, between China and Russia has steadily grown and reached a record level. China has overtaken the European Union to become the largest importer of Russian agricultural products and foodstuff s, according to the Agroexport Federal Center of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The article analyzes the trends and factors affecting the structure of agricultural trade between China and Russia, based on data for 2016- 2022, and suggests measures to overcome the existing negative aspects and to ensure further development of the agricultural trade between the two countries.
