Abstract

The digital economy refers to every area of economic activity in which human needs are met mainly through the use of digital data. The digital economy is shaped by information, artificial intelligence, network structure, platform and individuals. The UAE’s national innovation strategy hinges on digital technologies as an important national sector. The initiative seeks to improve the system of providing services, smart cities, soft ware, advanced technologies (for example, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, nano-technologies), and to attract specialists. However, the digital transformation strategy remains largely unrealized, since it lacks solutions to certain social and cultural issues.
