Abstract

In the article, the authors consider the key areas of China’s digital transformation, focusing on the development of foreign trade in digital goods. Among the main issues that may limit the country’s exports of its digital products to international markets, the latest measures of the US administration to restrict the supply of the most advanced microelectronic circuits and equipment for their production to China are analyzed. These restrictions, representing a shift away from the US commitment to free trade, could seriously disrupt the global value chains of the multinational companies acquiring Chinese microelectronic circuits and equipment to use in their production processes in China and other countries.
