Abstract

For many years, leading economists who analyzed international operations of firms paid particular attention to the development of the theory of foreign direct investment. They used the relationship between the changes in capital outflows and the volume of exports, industrialization and consumer behavior. The results of these studies were published. The number of developed theories is significant. The article presents an analysis of the main theories of foreign direct investment and their shortcomings. Besides, the author dwells on the practice of foreign direct investment in 2021.
