Abstract

The article is devoted to the issues of international clothing trade and the activities of MNCs in the fashion industry. A study of the changes in the volumes and dynamics of exports and imports of clothing was carried out. It was proved that multinational companies (MNCs) play an important role in the international clothing trade, forming the main trends in the market for fashionable goods - clothes, shoes, and accessories. The growing influence of global value chains (GVCs) created and managed by MNCs on the dynamics and structural shift s in international trade in clothing and other fashion items is revealed. The conjunctural and non-cyclical factors influencing the dynamics and directions of foreign trade flows in clothing trade were studied.
