Modernization in Eastern Europe: from Planned System to Economy of Knowledge (1989–2009)

Abstract

In the present article problems of modernization which should be solved to countries of Eastern Europe in the late eighties – the beginning of the 1990th, after disintegration of world system of a socialism and the subsequent transition to market economy are considered. The special attention is given to reforming questions in these countries of the scientific and technological sphere and an education system, directed on increase of a role of knowledge practically in all spheres of life. Article has mainly survey character and contains the comparative analysis of modernization processes in countries of Eastern Europe.
