Abstract

Introduction. In line with the Concept for the Development of Mathematics Education in the Russian Federation, a Network of Regional Scientific and Educational Mathematical Centres (hereinafter referred to as the RSEMC Network) has been established, encompassing 11 centres located in 19 major Russian cities. The primary goals of the RSEMC Network, besides training specialists and achieving high-level scientific results, include promoting and developing mathematical science in various regions, as well as training and retraining personnel across different mathematical disciplines within the realms of science and higher education. Monitoring Tools. The principal sources of information for analysis and evaluation are the annual reports from organisations within the RSEMC Network, along with analytical data from the Russian Research Institute of Economics, Politics and Law in Science and Technology (RIEPL). Results. The performance of the RSEMC Network has been analysed. A comparison of projected and actual results regarding performance metrics and staff composition for the years 2020–2022 is provided. The results of the RSEMC Network's operations indicate that all planned performance metrics have been fully met; a highly skilled team comprising Russian and international scientists has been assembled; and collaboration with top-tier International Mathematical Centres is ongoing. Looking ahead, a new trend in conducting research within the RSEMC Network from 2025 to 2030 will be the focus of fundamental science on solving practical problems required by the real economy sector, particularly at the regional level and amidst digital transformation. Conclusion. The work of the RSEMC Network will significantly contribute to the advancement of academic science, applied research in line with the priorities of the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation, scientific and technological innovations, and will facilitate the participation of Network members in the economic development of both the regions and Russia as a whole.
