Movimiento natural y saldos migratorios de la población de España (1880-2018)

Abstract

El tamaño y la estructura de la población son variables determinantes de los comportamientos sociales en cualquier país. En este trabajo se elabora una nueva serie anual de la población total de España. Con datos revisados para 1991-2018, se completan las cifras del movimiento natural, lo que permite obtener nuevas tasas vitales para 1940-1974, que hasta ahora eran defectivas, y se ofrecen los saldos migratorios anuales para cerca de 140 años. El trabajo describe el método y las fuentes utilizadas y analiza los cambios más significativos. El caso italiano sirve de contraste para valorar la frecuencia y la intensidad de los movimientos migratorios de España con el exterior. KEY Classification-JEL: J11; N01; N33; N34
