Abstract

Wine is one the beverages that gives many possibilities of smells; although in Mexico the consumption or per capita is low, it has been increasing in the past few years. There are a lot of types of wild grapes (Vitis cinerea) in the state of Guerrero with the qualities required to make red wine. This work’s objective was to determine economic and financial feasibility of the production of wine, using wild grapes, in Tlacotepec, General Heliodoro Castillo, Guerrero. The information given here was mainly obtained from official sources such as Secretaría de Economía, SAGARPA and from private businesses, this last source was for machine and supplies quotation. All the information was gathered in 2015. To check financial viability of the proyect we had to get the Internal Rate of Return or Profitability, Net Present Value, and R BC-1, aside from the breakeven point as operation indicator. The market of the product will be in the main cities of the state and touristic zones, such as Chilpancindo, Taxco de Alarcón, Acapulco, and Zihuatanejo. This last three places mentioned are known as Triángulo del Sol. The production of the wine will firstly consist of 8,333 bottles with a content of 750ml each, this amount represents 10,5% of potential market. The Net Present Value of this project, estimated to have a discount rate of 12%, was of $352,856.92; the internal rate of return or profitability had a 16.16% and the R BC-1 1.20, this points out that the project will be profitable. From the technique and financial point of view, this evaluation is viable. The project will generate 3 permanent jobs and about 357 wages due to the indirect jobs caused by the harvest of the raw material.
