Abstract

In Mexico, vegetable production has proven to be an activity that involves generating high value and incorporating a work force skilled in packaging processes and cutting work. However, for vegetable exports to the United States, following the events of September 11, 2001, gave rise to policy tightening, as in the case of bioterrorism law. This is how the United States has developed protocols that included the requirements for the entry of these products. Such is the case of quality standards, health and safety and social responsibility criteria, involving respect for human rights of farm workers, paying fair wages and the prohibition of child labor. The forms they assume job satisfaction in objective conditions relate to: occupational health and safety, labor, etc. and subjective conditions of workers in the sense of how they live. The aim of this study is to assess job satisfaction in the areas of objective and subjective conditions in order to provide an overview of the situation of this category in greenhouses southern Sonora. A questionnaire rose in a group of five companies, the questionnaire collects elements by the CEMEFI evaluation criteria, and ISO 26000. The findings are that even though there is a regular atmosphere in the objective conditions, in subjective conditions sometimes it is not so. The document consists of six sections: Introduction, overview of protected agriculture in Mexico, the law of bioterrorism; the existing standards of social responsibility; description of the sample and sample design; results and conclusions.
