Abstract

In this research it is studied the poultry industry market focusing mainly in the product of chicken meat. The purpose of this paper is to show if there is a development in the sense of Sen for participants in the market for chicken meat in six major producing states of Mexico: Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Durango, Jalisco, Nuevo Leon and Queretaro. To do this, it is estimated a panel data econometric model to determine the characteristics of this market. Among the main findings is that producers are price takers, characteristic of a competitive market where development is given to producers and consumers
