Abstract

The content of the article consists of the following issues: local scale, development and strategic planning at the local level, essence, directions and determinants of functioning and development of agribusiness at the local scale. The aim of the article was to determine essence and conditions functioning of the agribusiness in rural and semi-urban communes and indications that agribusiness may be a tool for local development. However local strategies in Poland , as is evident from the discussion, insufficiently take into account the development of agribusiness, and especially its non-agricultural branches, and link them together. It would be desirable to develop activities in agribusiness based on integration and network connections between the various branches of agribusiness, especially at the local level.
