Abstract

The purpose of this article was to discuss cost parameters for the milk collection freight, based in the theoretical principles of scale economies and distance. Such study is justified for the difficulties to measure the parameters which might help in the management of the fleets, relating to the case of milk transportation. The costs related to different kinds of vehicle were estimated, through cost spreadsheets developed by the pattern support system and also the parameters of fleet efficiency related to Economies of scale, and distance for transportation. It was evidenced economy in favor of the vehicles with major transport capacity; such evidences could direct the table negotiations of freights, signaling for the preference for the use of this type of vehicle of greater capacity and better performance, according to evaluated parameters.
