Caracterização Da Atividade Avícola No Município De Boa Vista Do Sul (Rs)

Abstract

Objetivou-se, neste artigo, caracterizar a atividade avícola em Boa Vista do Sul. O município é o maior produtor de frangos de corte do Rio Grande do Sul, contribuindo de forma significativa para as exportações da Serra Gaúcha e do Estado. A metodologia de pesquisa inclui a aplicação de questionário para coleta de dados, visitas às propriedades rurais, entrevistas com os avicultores e com pessoas da comunidade e coleta de dados em fontes secundárias. Os resultados apontam que a maioria dos avicultores é de pequeno e médio porte, constituindo-se em unidades familiares, residem e trabalham no mesmo local, e a atividade é relevante para o desenvolvimento econômico do município, contribuindo para elevar o nível de empregabilidade e de renda per capita.
