Abstract

Hazánk kedvező geológiai viszonyainak köszönhetően a geotermikus energia hasznosítására adottak a feltételek. ------------------------------------------------------------- Due to the favourable location of Hungary in the Carpathian Basin, geothermal energy source utilization is widely known. In the 1960s geothermal utilization has boomed. Geothermal heat mining was used until this time only for health and therapy reasons. With the new technical possibilities agricultural and building heating became possible. Utilization of low enthalpy geothermal sources is possible due to the increasing number of geothermal wells (1145 by 2005 with over 30 °C). Agricultural utilization of the geothermal heat in the Southern Great Plain is common: heating greenhouses, polytunnels and animal husbandry farms are the possible ways of exploitation of geothermal heat, where direct heating is common. We have investigated geothermal systems at Zeiler Hungária Ltd (Győr-Moson-Sopron county), which are working in the practice in the Great Plain in Hungary for decades. The company has built 62.000 sqm greenhouses since its establishment in 2009. The greenhouses are heated by geothermal water and utilized for tomato production.
