Abstract

This article is expressing the authors’ point of view as regards the economic and social evolution of Romania during 2005. After highlighting the basic elements of the general frame to consider for Romania in 2005, the article develops the analysis by the main sectors of activity. The Gross Domestic Product analysis is performed both in comparison with the year 2004 and by its structure, pointing out the influence of the factors which contributed to its achievement. Furthermore, there are the significant developments by branches of activity which are analyzed in a sectorial manner. The analysis is performed in correlation with the situation which is going to be imposed by the adhesion of Romania to the European Union. The basic aspects are suggestively supported and underlined by the synthetic tables and diagrams included in the text.
