Abstract

This paper presents the information technology used by the IT department of SIF Banat-Crisana for development of a new set of applications based on web-services (WS). Paraphrasing the title of a well-known computer programming book "Algorithms + Data structures = Programs", investing on capital markets requires besides a solid knowledge base comprising investment evaluation and prediction methods, computation of investment risk, methods for permanently monitoring of investing opportunities, etc. also the acquisition and rapid processing of a huge amount of date. In author's opinion the investors' access to the primary data of capital markets (financial data, economic results, quotations, indicators, etc) through modern informatics technologies - where WS belongs – has an important role for the active development of these markets.
