Activité des femmes mariées et hétérogénéité: Estimation sur données de panel

Abstract

This paper presents estimates of female labor supply between 1981 and 1989. Data come from longitudinal samples of French Labor Force Surveys. They allow to take into account unobserved individual heterogeneity. The latter explains a large part of total variance of residuals in a probit model taking into account usual socio demographic variables. These variables have a similar influence as in other studies on the same topic. The size of the smaple allows adjustements by level of education which is one of the main variables explaining the female behaviour.
