Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore the serum fetuin B levels and factors influencing its concentrations in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and to provide evidence for the prevention of T2DM and its complications. Two hundred three patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes and 209 healthy controls were recruited. The serum fetuin B levels were measured using an ELISA, and the correlations between fetuin B levels and glycosylated hemoglobin levels, insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR), SOD levels, GSH-PX levels, MDA levels, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and carotid atherosclerosis were analyzed.
