Abstract

The debate on the subject of “The methodological paradox in the prevailing economic discourse” is important not only for enriching our understanding of economics and Islamic Worldview that we ought to build, but also to facilitate our endeavor to build that worldview for all disciplines of Knowledge. The development of this perspective and its practice will be an appreciable contribution of the modern Muslim mind to the development of research in various disciplines in their global spaces. The importance of this debate lies also in fact that contemporary economics, governs almost all concerns of modern human society. The contemporary criticism directed at the positivist methodology in the economic discourse comes from within. Knowledge about economy is knowledge about reality. This knowledge depends on the way in which we understand reality and deal with it. The type of methodology we choose is one of different types; new problems always challenge the methodology, raise the clash of methodologies, and the spread of a disturbing culture in contemporary human society, characterized as “culture after the truth”.
