Social Innovation Action Research for Lifestyle Improvement of Child Labour in Tehran (Social Innovation’s Idea on Child Labour Lifestyle)

Abstract

Child labour has become an ever growing social problem in developing countries like Iran. This study presents a strategy for solving this problem regarding human development and their capabilities through identifying child labour in Tehran. The approach is the idea of production, proliferation and distribution of medicinal plants, which has been presented by Salam Social Innovation Center. As an action research inquiry process, the study has adapted this idea to the stages of social innovation. In the project, 46 street children with their families participated. The results demonstrate their empowerment and satisfaction; their self-sufficiency is also estimated in near future.
