Die Struktur der österreichischen Staatsausgaben im europäischen Ländervergleich

Abstract

Dieser Artikel analysiert Österreichs Staatsausgabenstrukturen im europäischen Kontext. Dabei zeigt sich, dass Österreich etwas mehr als zwei Drittel seiner gesamten Staatsausgaben für die Bereiche Bildung, Gesundheit und soziale Sicherung aufwendet. Dies ist typisch für entwickelte europäische Wohlfahrtsstaaten. Ein vertiefter Vergleich mit Belgien und Deutschland fördert einige Besonderheiten in den österreichischen Ausgabenstrukturen zutage, die zu einem Großteil auf die Organisation staatlicher Leistungen, gesellschaftliche und wirtschaftliche Entwicklungen sowie statistische Besonderheiten zurückzuführen sind.
