Energie in der Nahrungsmittelkette

Abstract

Die Auswirkungen steigender Energiepreise betreffen nahezu alle Marktteilnehmer einer Volkswirtschaft. Verbraucher müssen befürchten, dass sich die Produkte des täglichen Bedarfs vom Nahrungsmittel bis zum Kraftstoff verteuern und Unternehmen müssen Preisaufschläge für Betriebsmittel und Vorleistungen mit Energiebezug sowie für die in der Produktion eingesetzte Energie verkraften. Wer auf den verschiedenen Stufen entlang der Wertschöpfungskette und in welchem Umfang die erhöhten Kosten tragen muss, hängt von zahlreichen Faktoren ab und ist nicht leicht zu beantworten. Ziel der Studie ist es, zunächst den physischen Energiebedarf und die damit verbundenen Kosten für den Ernährungssektor vom Landwirt über die Verarbeitung und den Handel bis zum Konsumenten darzustellen. Daraus werden die finanziellen Belastungen auf den einzelnen Stufen abgeleitet und bewertet. In einem weiteren Schritt werden neben dem Einspar- und Anpassungspotential entlang der Kette mögliche Preiseffekte im Kontext der Marktstrukturen abgeschätzt.
