Floricultura en el sur mexiquense: rasgos del emprendedor que inciden en la capacidad empresarial de innovación

Abstract

Actualmente, en México la floricultura se considera como una actividad agropecuaria que genera ingresos y empleos. Sin embargo, poco se ha estudiado más allá de su cultivo, en temas de tipo organizacional o de innovación. Así, el objetivo de este trabajo es identificar las características demográficas, psicológicas y socio-culturales que distinguen a los emprendedores florícolas, en consecuencia la determinación de cuáles rasgos inciden sobre la capacidad innovadora. El marco referencial se integra por la teoría neoclásica del emprendedor innovador de Schumpeter y la teoría de las capacidades dinámicas. La metodología aplicada consiste en, primero, la compilación de información en campo sobre el emprendedor con integrantes de una asociación de floricultores en Villa Guerrero, Estado de México, segundo, se analiza con el modelo conceptual de la capacidad de innovación. Los resultados permiten destacar algunas características de los emprendedores florícolas que inciden sobre la capacidad innovadora: nivel de estudios, experiencia, nivel de riesgo e incertidumbre, capacidad para resolver problemas, perseverancia, colaboración, consciencia ambiental e ingenio. En conclusión, los rasgos del emprendedor florícola se relacionan con la capacidad innovadora que tiene la organización, pues la presencia o la ausencia de éstos, si tendrá impacto en cada uno de sus recursos organizativos.
