Abstract

Most urban economics rnodels are based on the hypothesis that there exists a Central Business District toward luhicli ail the displacements in the city are made. However, in some modela, this hypothesis is suppressed and the use of euclidian distance leads to important difficulties because displacements are not of location- CBD kind. In such cases, authors generally assume a long-narrow city in the sense. of Solow and Vickrey, that is a one-dimension space.. The purpose of this paper is to present a method which allows to generalize these models in the bidimensional case, using the arc-radial distance. . After a presentation of this concept, we use it to generalize and to develop in the bidimensional case the Beckmann's model of " the dispersed city ". [fre] La plupart des modèles d'économie urbaine reposent sur l'hypothèse de l'existence préalable d'un Central Business District (CED). Dans certains travaux, cependant, le rejet de cette hypothèse conduit à d'importantes difficultés car les déplacements des consommateurs ne sont plus de type domicile-CBD ; dès lors, les auteurs raisonnent dans le cadre d'une ville linéaire « longue et étroite » au sens de Solow et Vickrey, c'est-à-dire dans un espace unidimensionnel.. L'objectif de cet article est de présenter une méthode qui permet de généraliser ces modèles au cas bidimensionnel en utilisant la distance arc-radiale. Après avoir présenté ce concept, on l'utilise pour généraliser et développer dans le cadre bidimensionnel le modèle de la « ville dispersée » de M. J. Beckmann.
