Abstract

This article explains how the theoretical and empirical content of business management propositional systems can be improved in the light of morphological and typological cognitive possibilities. This is especially true when it comes to taking cooperatives and their meaning into account in business administration teaching and research. In doing so, we draw on morphological-typological work that has been produced on a large scale in recent decades in the tradition of teaching and research at the Department of Cooperative Studies of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne, founded by Gerhard Weisser. These include a large number of papers by my academic teacher Werner Wilhelm Engelhardt, who died in 2021 at the age of 95 and is remembered with numerous references.
