¿Educar en otro idioma? Reflexiones sobre el aprendizaje del inglés en primaria

Abstract

El siguiente artículo cuestiona el sentido que tiene en nuestra actualidad educar en otro idioma, en específico el aprendizaje del inglés. Se analizan los criterios que justifican tal iniciativa educativa desde una perspectiva sociocultural y ecológica del lenguaje, y de manera crítica se exponen las implicaciones de un programa de estudios bilingüe en un país desigual, diverso y no angloparlante como México. Las conclusiones incluyen algunas alternativas para promover el aprendizaje del inglés en primaria.
