Hedonic Pricing of Agriculture and Forestry Externalities

Abstract

In this study, the hedonic price method was used toidentify and monetarize some of the external effectsof agricultural and sylvicultural activities. Weexamined the renting price of ruralself-catering cottages, or gîtes. Intensivelivestock farming caused the renting-price ofgîtes to decrease, whereas permanent grassland hadthe opposite effect.
