La defensa de la naturaleza como bien común: dinámicas del conflicto y giros en el debate. Ecuador 2000-2012

Abstract

El artículo contribuye a la sistematización del debate que, en ámbitos político-académicos ecuatorianos, ha suscitado la defensa de la naturaleza como bien común, entre 2000 y 2012. Desde la perspectiva de una sociología histórica, el trabajo sostiene la mirada en una doble dirección: la dinámica del conflicto social y el tipo de reflexión que se asume en ámbitos político-académicos. Desde el punto de vista metodológico, el artículo se basa en un rastreo hemerográfico y la realización de entrevistas a especialistas. A través de la reconstrucción del debate, el trabajo se orienta a hacer visible que la defensa de la naturaleza como bien común forma parte de un conflicto que se configura a partir de las intersecciones y continuidades entre economía y cultura, entre ecología y política, entre lo social y lo ambiental, y que ha adquirido los rasgos de una crisis civilizatoria.
