Wie kann der soziale Zusammenhalt in Europa gestärkt werden? Ergebnisse aus einem Umfrageexperiment in neun EU-Mitgliedstaaten

Abstract

Der Beitrag stellt die Ergebnisse eines incentivierten Umfrageexperiments, das in neun EU-Mitgliedstaaten durchgeführt wurde, vor. Es wird aufgezeigt, wie das Priming gemeinsamer wirtschaftlicher Interessen, einer geteilten Identität und der Corona Pandemie die Ausprägung von Altruismus, Reziprozität und Vertrauen bei den Befragten beeinflusst. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass sowohl eine gemeinsame Identität als auch eine gemeinsame Krise eine verbindende Wirkung unter den EU-Bürgerinnen und Bürgern haben können, während das Betonen gemeinsamer wirtschaftlicher Interessen (allein) den europäischen Zusammenhalt in unserem Experiment nicht beeinflusst hat.
