German Manufacturing: Increasing Investment Propensity

Abstract

According to the current results of the Ifo Investment Survey, companies in the German manufacturing industry are planning to increase their investment by around 5 percent in 2017. For 2016, the survey respondents reported an increase of 3 percent. As nearly equal motives for investment activity in 2017 are expansion investments and investments in replacement procurement, both amounting to roughly one third.
