Entrepreneurship for people with disability in European countries

Abstract

In Europe, an increasing number of people with disability are choosing self-employment due to specific barriers to job market participation. For these individuals, entrepreneurship represents a means of empowerment and self-determination to break out of discriminations, prejudices, and negative stereotypes that impede their efforts to establish themselves in the economy. As a result, policies and programs designed to support disability entrepreneurship will become increasingly important in Europe in the years to come. However, it?s crucial that these initiatives be adaptable to meet the unique needs encountered by individuals with a disability.
