Türkiye’de Döviz Kuru ve Faiz Oranının Dış Ticaret Üzerine Etkileri: Yapısal Kırılmalı Bir Analiz

Abstract

Bu çalışmada; Türkiye’de faiz oranı ve döviz kurunun dış ticaret üzerindeki etkileri, 1989:M01-2018:M06 dönemi için yapısal kırılmalı zaman serisi analiziyle araştırılmıştır. Serilerin durağanlığı Kapetanios (2005) testiyle incelenmiş, serilerin I(1) oldukları görülmüştür. Seriler arasındaki eşbütünleşme, Maki (2012) testiyle incelenmiş, serilerin eşbütünleşik oldukları, yani faiz, döviz kuru ve dış ticaret serilerinin uzun dönemde birlikte hareket ettikleri belirlenmiştir. Uzun ve kısa dönem analizleri FMOLS yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Uzun dönem analizinde; döviz kurlarındaki artışların, ihracatı arttırdığı, ithalatı azalttığı, kur artışlarının ihracat üzerindeki etkisinin, ithalat üzerindeki etkisinden daha büyük olduğu, faiz oranlarındaki artışların ihracat ve ithalat üzerindeki etkilerinin istatistiksel olarak anlamsız olduğu belirlenmiştir. Faiz oranındaki artışların döviz kurunu azaltmakta olduğu görülmüştür. Kısa dönem analizinde; döviz kurundaki artışların ihracatı hemen etkilemediği, fakat ithalatı azalttığı belirlenmiştir. Faiz oranlarındaki artışların kısa dönemde de döviz kurlarını azaltıcı etkisinin olduğu görülmüştür. Modellerin hata düzeltme mekanizmaları çalışmaktadır. Seriler arasındaki nedensellik ilişkileri Granger testiyle incelenmiş ve faizden döviz kuruna, döviz kurundan ithalata doğru tek yönlü, faiz ile ithalat arasında ve ihracat ile ithalat arasındaysa iki yönlü nedensellik ilişkileri tespit edilmiştir. Bu durum; Türkiye’de uygulanan para politikaları ile döviz kurunun, döviz kuru politikaları ile de ithalatın etkilenebildiğini göstermektedir.
