Weiterentwicklung von Indikatoren zur Erfassung der Fragmentierung von Wäldern unter Berücksichtigung der Datenverfügbarkeit

Abstract

Die Zerschneidung und Fragmentierung von Wäldern ist nicht nur hinsichtlich der Störung von Ökosystemen und Habitaten bedenklich sondern zählt zu einer der wichtigsten Ursachen des Aussterbens von Arten und der Gefährdung biologischer Vielfalt. Neben dem Verlust von Flächen, der Habitatverkleinerung und der Änderung von Umfang-Flächen-Verhältnissen von Lebensräumen entstehen durch die Fragmentierung von Wäldern Ausbreitungsbarrieren für Tiere und Pflanzen, womit der genetische Austausch zwischen Populationen zwangsläufig behindert wird. Die vorliegende Studie zeigt einen Verfahrensvorschlag auf, mit dem aufbauend auf verschiedenen Mustern der Waldbedeckung und deren räumlicher Verteilung Informationen zur Fragmentierung von Wäldern erfasst werden können. Mittels künstlicher Landschaftskonstellationen wurde aus einem Set von Landschaftsmaßzahlen deren Eignung als 'Waldfragmentierungsindikator' untersucht. Die Effektive Maschenfläche MESHPI wurde als ein aussagekräftiges Maß zur Quantifizierung der Fragmentierung von Wäldern identifiziert ...
