Unterwertige Beschäftigung von Akademikerinnen und Akademikern: Umfang, Ursachen, Einkommenseffekte und Beitrag zur geschlechtsspezifischen Lohnlücke

Abstract

Unter deutschen Akademikern und Akademikern existiert in nennenswertem Ausmaß unterwertige Beschäftigung in Form formaler Überqualifikation für den ausgeübten Job. Rund ein Drittel der Personen beiderlei Geschlechts war im Jahr 2010, gemessen am mittleren Bildungsniveau der beruflichen Vergleichsgruppe, überqualifiziert beschäftigt. Mit der Unterwertigkeit gehen Einkommenseinbußen einher, die für Akademikerinnen sogar noch höher ausfallen als für Akademiker. Nicht nur ist die Lohnstrafe unterwertiger Beschäftigung für Akademikerinnen höher, zugleich ist es auch die Lohnprämie adäquater Beschäftigung. Unterwertigkeit ist aus gesellschaftlicher, wirtschaftlicher und individueller Sicht der Betroffenen nachteilig. Politik und Unternehmen müssen daher ein Interesse daran haben, den Umfang der Unterwertigkeit zu reduzieren.
