The purposes of this study are to (a) obtain the portrait of the issue from both the internal and external points of view which inhibit the improvement of competitiveness of West Java industries, (b) produce the planning improvement strategy of competitiveness of West Java industries as a base of provincial government policy to encourage the progress of local industries. The result of the study shows several main obstacles, one of which is inefficiency in running the business. That is why, it is necessary to take some efforts to maintain efficiency by implementing Supply Chain Management.
