Abstract

The article presents a reflection on the impact of technology on the world of work and its risks in Portugal developed at OAT over the last years of research in the area. The text presents a brief historical overview of the impact of technological development on the world of work. Below is a summary of the role played by the Portuguese industrial relations system in the dynamics of technological transformations in the world of work. Finally, the need to develop a research program in Portugal on technology and the world of work, and on the integration of labor partners in the discussion of technological genesis issues, is discussed.
