Abstract

We point a convergence on the debates about aging and disability as with thepopulation aging most of the disabled persons are found among the elder. Weshow how the emergence of the school known as social model of disability changesthe way of understanding disability as it transfers, from the individual to society, the responsibility for the disadvantages related to disability. The social model ofdisability is an extensive debate over social justice and welfare policies in which themedical way of explaining exclusion is no longer considered sufficient.
