Abstract

"Die Beschäftigung im Handwerk ist in den letzten Jahren in Hessen annähernd gleich gewachsen wie im Nichthandwerk. Bundesweit hat sich dagegen das Handwerk schlechter entwickelt als die Gesamtwirtschaft. In Hessen war allerdings 2016 nur jeder zehnte Beschäftigte in einem Handwerksunternehmen tätig, während es bundesweit auf jeden achten zutraf. Einen überdurchschnittlichen Beitrag zum Gesamtbeschäftigungswachstum im Handwerk leisteten insbesondere Unternehmen aus dem Gewerbezweig Gebäudereiniger, gefolgt von Maurern und Betonbauern, Elektrotechnikern, Malern und Lackierern sowie Installateuren und Heizungsbauern. Das Beschäftigungswachstum im Handwerk basiert nicht auf einer Zunahme der Zahl der Unternehmen, sondern vielmehr auf einem Wachstum in den bestehenden Unternehmen. Die Ausbildungsleistung der Handwerksbetriebe ist überdurchschnittlich. Allerdings ging die Zahl der Auszubildenden im Handwerk in den letzten Jahren stärker zurück als im Nichthandwerk."
